Having booked a skin-saving Hydrafacial, I began my appointment at BoDY Medspa with a tour of the facility followed by a complimentary advanced digital skin analysis. After taking several quick and easy digital images (no, not with the kind of digital camera you have at home!) , I was offered a printed summary that analyzed my skin based on UV Damage, Complexion (health, pigment evenness, redness and skin radiance), Wrinkles, and Pores (excess sebum, acne, inflammation and deep inflammation). Armed with more knowledge than I'd ever before gleaned about the state of my skin -- and lovin' it-- I was ready to start my HydraFacial.
The HydraFacial is an advanced, next generation Microdermabrasion treatment that combines exfoliation with painless extraction and deep pore cleansing to refine and resurface the skin. But unlike a traditional microderm, Hydradermabrasion is richly moisturizing and renewing thanks to the use of "active performance serums" custom selected based on clients' skin types and skin care concerns.
The Medical Esthetician studied the results of my skin analysis and dialed in on the best serum to use in the machine to replenish my skin during my facial. The HydraFacial with Infusion is a 30 minute treatment that banishes oil, moistens dry areas and leaves skin incredibly clean. The HydraFacial with Diamondabrasion is a 60 minute service that helps minimize the superficial effects of sun damage and fine lines thanks in part to a Diamond Tip, crystal free, chemical abrasion process. Finally, the HydraFacial Signature treatment is a 90 minute service that offers all the benefits of the HydraFacial with Infusion while also treating the neck and décolleté. This is a 90-minute effective introduction to incredibly clean skin. Best of all, because the HydraFacial is a kinder, gentler service, it's ideal for women of all skin types, tones and colors, serving up equal rights beauty for all ethnicities.
My Hydrafacial over and my skin all aglow, the Medical Esthetician treated me to the "The Perfect Ending" service. This is an an expert application of ColorScience mineral makeup. Once done, I sashayed my striking new look right out to the Promenade where dinner with my husband -- and a few head turns, no doubt -- awaited me.
